Joinery and Turning

For the Phone Holder Project, with a partner, we were assigned a project to make a phone holder than fit within a 8x8x8 box, was less than one pound, is functional, and uses at least 2 CNC machines and 2 materials. We used a router on a block of wood and 3d printed the backing.
For the Joinery and Turning Personal Project, we had to create something that involved using joinery techniques and turning. This could be done with one project or with 2 seperate projects. This is my joinery project, a jewelry box for my mother with a secret compartment in the bottom.
This is the turning part of the personal project requirement, a tumbler for myself.

Project information

  • Dates: Spring 2019
  • Skillset: Woodworking + CNC + CAD

I took this class in the spring semester of my senior year at Lick-Wilmerding High School. I wanted to take this class because for most of my shop classes, I had used CNC machines for the majority of my project, but in the wood shop, we will primarly use lathes, band saws, table saws, edge sanders, plannar, CNC router, laser cutters, 3d printers, plasma cutter, and other tools.
